Expression of protein-structure:
Tested at 1% on normal human keratinocytes, Structurine ® BIO (Hydrolyzed lupine protein *) significantly increased the expression of mRNA encoding:
- Filaggrin: 69%
- Involucrin:61%
- Transglutaminase 1: 70%

Neosynthesis-epidermal lipids:
BIO Structurine ® (Hydrolyzed lupine protein *) promotes neosynthesis epidermal lipids and the return of the lipid barrier of stratum corneum. The characterization of these lipids indicates an increase of ceramides (44%), cholesterol (100%), cholesterol sulfate (45%) and cerebrosides (20%) after treatment with BIO Structurine ® 1% compared with the control.

-Effect on insensible water loss (TEWL):
Under the conditions of this study, after 14 days of twice daily applications and in comparison to placebo, Structurine ®BIO (Hydrolyzed lupine protein *) made 4% emulsion significantly reduced TEWL after repeated attacks Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, 11% (p = 0.0395). This decrease is 13% (p = 0.0244) with Structurine ® BIO formulated to 7%. The study of the distribution of results showed that this effect was observed in 65% of volunteers for each of the two.
